Working Women Week

Hello friends!

As the creator of Nú Ninja, I will be participating in the first edition of the Working Women Week, here in Barcelona. An event created and hosted by Planet Venus, Barcelona Metropolitan, PWN Barcelona and Barcelona Expat Life. I am a member of the wonderful businesswomen community, Planet Venus. I certainly recommend you checking them out!

The Working Women Week program offers a wide variety of offline and online events at various locations in Barcelona. The workshops, round tables, activities and exhibitions in different languages are all free of charge. An exciting and extremely varied program for working women in different phases of their lives.

I will share my story about working as a costume designer for films and theater in Iceland and Denmark, then working for years as a project manager and organizing theater productions, moving to Barcelona and working in an art gallery and finally creating Nú Ninja!

I didn’t choose all of my career changes; some were products of circumstances and were painful at the time. Some twists and turns felt like failures while others were a huge leap forward. This talk is about highs and lows, the balance between hustle & surrender, grit & self care and finally taking control of one’s path.

I am sharing my story because I want us to have a conversation about non-linear career paths in order to normalize them. Better yet, so we can see the benefits of them. Quite frankly, I want us to talk about the title of my talk: Sticking to your dream by pivoting!
