Njardarheimr is a cultural centre and a Viking village, located at the end of the Nærøyfjord in west Norway. The name means a home dedicated to the northern god Njord. There you can experience an authentic village that shows how the Vikings lived 1000 years ago.
People who live there identify as Vikings and have a lifestyle that reflects that. They know their history and have unique knowledge about Viking life which they share with visitors. You can have tours and listen to captivating stories of the Vikings in a spectacular setting. Furthermore, visitors can participate in axe throwing or archery, chat with the Vikings and try out some handcraft and Viking food!
The Nærøyfjord is a nature reserve, and it is on UNESCOs World heritage list. It is 17 km long and the narrowest point is only 250 m wide. It is one of the most beautiful and wildest arms of the famous Sognefjord and the passage through Nærøyfjord is one of the most dramatic fjord trips in Europe.
