Nú Ninja Helga Mjöll2021-09-07T08:23:12+01:00Edward Fuglø is a contemporary artist born in Klaksvík, Faroe Islands. Fuglø is a known painter, illustrator, set designer, and children’s book author. After graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1991 he has not only illustrated but also published a variety of children’s books including Poetics, Janus is one star and more. His artistic career does not end there, Fuglø has participated in the making of several theatre and film set and costume designs.
Although Fuglø is based in the Faroe Islands many of his exhibitions have been all around Europe including Copenhagen, Reykjavik and Austria. In fact, his works could be found on many different Faroese stamps sent all around the world. For this, he won second place in Europe’s Most Beautiful Stamps.
Furthermore, in recognition of his work, Fuglø has received many awards and prizes. For his work and publications of children’s books he received the Children’s Bookkeeper’s salary from Tòrshavn city council (Tórshavnar Býráð) and the Nordic School Librarian’s Association’s Children’s Book Prize. He has also been honoured with an art prize (Listavirðisløn Nólsoyar Páls) by his hometowns council. Overall, Fuglø’s success can be reflected in the 4 different solo and 9 groups shows featured over the past decade.
